Soups, Muffins and Llamas
Good Morning, Estes Park!
Since moving to Estes from Chicago in May of this year, I have really appreciated all there is to do here in Colorado. After attending the Wool Market at the Fairgrounds this year, I noticed a sign for an upcoming LLAMA RACE in Fairplay, CO. How could I miss this opportunity? Jody, our Events Manager here at The Baldpate, and I drove to Fairplay this past Saturday to compete in their annual Llama Race.....and it was even more fun than it sounds!

Our weekend away from Estes was a lot of fun, but it's great to be back at The Baldpate...especially considering today's tasty menu! July 29th-Soups & Muffins
Good Morning!
I don't think I could have asked for a better morning! Here at The Baldpate Inn the sun has been sending down its rays of warmth ever since it rose over the mountains, chipmunks can be seen-mouths full-scampering across the property, the hummingbirds are as active as ever, not a cloud can be found in the sky, our Steller's Jay is again gracing us with his presence, and the leaves of the Aspen trees are dancing along with the gentle breeze.
The soups our fine chefs are busy preparing today are Cowboy Buffalo Stew and Corn Chowder! Try a slice of Honey Wheat Bread with either. Not in the mood for it? No problem. Today we are also having our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread! The muffins for today are: Oatmeal Blues for those with a sweet tooth (my favorite) and Zucchini Dill for those who prefer a more savory muffin.
Today our specialty salads are: Apple Apricot, Classic Coleslaw, and Keenly Peach Creme! Come by anytime today between 11:30am and 8:00pm to enjoy any or all of our menu items featured on our salad buffet today! Save room for a slice of homemade pie-with or without ice cream you cannot go wrong! I recommend cherry, chocolate, and rhubarb.
After your lovely meal take a stroll around Lily Lake. Just the other day on my walk I was able to witness some of nature's newest members-baby ducks trustingly gliding through the water behind their mother.

What a beautiful sight I was able to witness this morning: a flawless view of the sun-soaked valley below us while a hummingbird as though knowing I was watching-hovered momentarily in front of me.
Today our chefs are busy in the kitchen preparing two of our wonderful soups: Red Chili and Potato Leek! Pair either soup with a slice of Honey Wheat Bread or our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread. Today is the last day of the Rooftop Rodeo festivities and I hope you had as much fun as The Balpate staff did with the rodeo this year! Last night the entire staff put on their dancing shoes and showed Estes Park their two-stepping moves. It was definitely a sight to see (maybe not a pretty one, however :).
With today being the last day of the rodeo, we would love you all to come down for lunch or dinner before heading to the stadium! We will be serving our beef stew and chicken and rice soups this afternoon. We also will be serving poppy seed and cranberry nut muffins. So please come up and experience the delicious sensations that our chefs prepare daily.
We would love to see you and please stop by the desk and let us know if you saw our talented (or not so talented) two steppin' staff last night!

Rodeo Saturday!
HOWDY!
Today at The Baldpate we are welcoming in The Rooftop Rodeo by dressing in our finest cowboy/cowgirl gear! It would be a great day to stop in and try our Cowboy Buffalo Stew or Cream of Mushroom soup with a side of our famous cornbread. Treat yourself to a Lemon Ginger or Oatmeal Blues muffin today as well!

July 11 Soup of the Day
Good morning Baldpate friends!
I hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous sunset we saw last night. Two of us Front Desk ladies went on an evening hike and saw some beautiful scenery along the way! Today is looking to be just as perfect! The hummingbirds are out and lively!
On our menu today is our delectable Red Chili and Corn Chowder soup. Muffins today are All Bran and Mandarin Orange, along with our famous Cornbread. Today we will be serving 3 yummy specialty salads -- Carrot Pineapple, Waldorf Apple, and Pistachio Pineapple.

Howdy Blogger! Hope all is well on this spectacular July 10 morning!
I hope some of you have had time to make it out to Estes Park's very own rodeo! I am going tonight and I am so excited...my first rodeo! However, between all the festivities I hope you have time to make it out to The BPI to get a chance to experience our beef stew and broccoli cheese soups. I especially hope to see some participants in the rodeo. Don't miss out on our zucchini nut and lemon blueberry muffins that would make any cowboy yee-ha!

Good Morning!
What a majestic morning we are having here at The Baldpate Inn! My morning walk to get the daily paper was wonderful as I was greeted by the wonder of nature all around me. The sun is gently kissing all as its warmth is sent down upon us, everywhere multiple types of wildflowers are showing off splendid blooms, the wildlife is out and about (saw a rabbit on my morning walk), and only a few clouds can be found floating ever-so-lightly across the sky!
Back in the kitchen today our fine chefs are busy whipping up White Chili and Pumpkin Curry (vegetarian) for your dining pleasure. Try a slice of our Honey Wheat Bread or our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread with either soup! Our muffins today are Banana Butterscotch and Lemon Ginger (featured in Bon Appetit). Also being served today are three of our specialty salads: Orange Cinnamon Apple, Classic Tuna & Raspberry Delight!

Good Morning!
What a wonderful sight to see last night after the wonderful rain decided to take a break-a double rainbow to the north of The Baldpate Inn. One was very vibrant while the other subtly displayed its colors.
The Estes Park Rooftop Rodeo-its 82nd year-starts today and runs through the 13th starting every night at 7:30 rain or shine! What better way to start it off then with a bowl of Cowboy Buffalo Stew or Tomato Rice (vegetarian)-our soups the chefs are busy in the kitchen preparing. Don't forget to accompany either soup with a slice of our Honey Wheat Bread or for our Baldpate Corn Bread lovers-it's on the menu today! Also on the menu are our Peanut Butter Muffins as well as our Oatmeal Blues-my favorite!
Our specialty salads being featured today are: Apple Apricot, Broccoli Tomato Mushroom & Keenly Peach Creme. After enjoying our buffet options today stay a little while longer to please your tastebuds further with a slice of homemade pie-with or without ice cream you cannot go wrong!

July 5, 2008 Soup of the Day
Good morning to all! Hope you had an absolutely sensational 4th of July. The staff of The Baldpate sure did! We celebrated last evening by watching the gorgeous fireworks add some zest to the Estes Park mountain skyline. Here are some pictures worth sharing from our celebration from last night!

Did anyone witness the wonder of the stars twinkling against the darkened sky last night? Here at The Baldpate Inn the stars were endless with a few clouds floating just below them.
As I made my way to get the daily paper the sun gently sent its warmth down upon me while the breeze carried the fresh mountain air past me. Not a cloud could be found in the sky this morning as I looked up just in time to see a bird dance across its blue vastness!
Today our chefs are back in the kitchen preparing Cowboy Buffalo Stew as well as Corn Chowder (vegetarian)! Come settle down at a table for either of our soups with a slice of our Honey Wheat Bread or if you in the mood for our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread-you are in luck as we will be serving it today! Good Morning!
On my way to get the paper this morning I was greeted by a beautiful day! For a moment I stopped-closed my eyes and just took in the peacefulness of nature. The breeze gently blew around me while the birds sang from the nearby trees.
Our fine chefs are busy preparing Red Chili and Potato Leek-yes it's here today! Either one would be accompanied nicely with a slice of our Honey Wheat Bread...but wait if you are a fan of our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread-you are in for a treat as we will be serving it as well! A key to unlocking your tastebuds today would have to be our Chocolate Mystery Muffins fresh our of the oven, however if you would rather have more of a savory muffin-I would recommend the Triple Cheese Muffins! After your meal-continue pleasing your tastebuds with a slice of homemade pie!
Today would be a prefect day for a walk around Lily Lake (or Lily Ridge) before or after dining with us! The wildflowers are beautifully blooming everywhere-just south of our main lodge here at The Baldpate Inn are some lovely Columbines!
