But now here we are on October 11th with just two more days left to our season at The Baldpate Inn! It's our last Friday of the season, here at The Baldpate Inn! Our tasty menu today includes the delicious Potato Leek soup and hearty White Chili. October 9th-Soups, Muffins & A Birthday!

Good Morning!

We have the makings for a majestic day here at The Baldpate Inn! While Twin Sisters continues to daunt a shadow over Lily Lake the valley is being soaked with golden rays of sunshine as a gentle mountain breeze passes ever so lightly across the splendid Aspen leaves which have almost all turned to show off their fall colors and a Steller's Jay again graces us with his presence! Breathtaking views are all around us! One of our servers, Fitz- (with his German Shepherd-Chaos) is celebrating his birthday today-come on by to wish him a Happy Birthday!

Beef Stew as well as Pumpkin Curry (add a dollop of whipped cream) are the delectable soups our lovely chefs are busy back in the kitchen preparing-come on in to have a bowl or two! Either would go nicely with a slice of our scrumptious homemade Honey Wheat Bread. Our petite Buttermilk Bran Muffins (one of my favorites) are being served today alongside our Poppy Seed Muffins (for those of you with a slight sweet tooth) and our Green Onion Cream Cheese Muffins! Good Morning!

The brisk morning greeted me when I headed out the door for the morning paper as the sun pierced through the clouds to highlight Longs Peak and a slight mountain breeze caused the Aspen leaves which continue to change color right before our eyes as the days pass dance! They persist on falling to the ground-reminding one of rose petals scattered amongst the floor. We have breathtaking views here at The Baldpate Inn-come on up to enjoy them!

Today our fine chefs are busy preparing two soups sure to warm you from head to toe: Cowboy Buffalo Stew and Cream of Mushroom! October!

Good Morning, Estes Park!

It is October 1st, which means you only have 12 more days to come and enjoy The Baldpate Inn before we close for the season on the afternoon of October 12th! My twin brother Eric (living in Chicago) and my older brother Alan (living in San Diego) are both making a trip to Estes to experience all of the great things I have been telling them about The BPI and Estes Park! Back in Illinois, traffic would stop to let ducks cross the road. My brothers will be amused that here in Estes you wait for ELK to cross the road! September 23rd-Soups & Muffins

Good Morning!

What a wonderful day we are already having here at The Baldpate Inn! On my walk to pickup the daily paper I took in a moment to set my eyes on the sunsoaked valley. The squirrels are chattering away as a cool mountain breeze gently sends the ever-changing Aspen leaves into an elegant dance and the sun softly kisses everything around us! We've been having a little excitement around here: last night IMS Productions came by to shoot a documentary on the key room and early this morning we had a bear roaming around the property!

Swing on by today to fill up on one-two or all the choices being featured on our specialty Soup & Salad Buffet! Our wonderful chefs are busy back in the kitchen preparing Cowboy Buffalo Stew (found in our 2008 Legacy Edition Collections cookbook) and Pumpkin Curry-don't forget to add a spoonful of fresh homemade whipped cream! Colors Of The Rainbow...

Good Morning!

I hope you were all able to witness the majestic double rainbow that graced us with its presence in-between rains yesterday! It was very vibrant and only added to the already breathtaking views we observe every day here at The Baldpate Inn! This morning the sun is playing peek-a-boo with us-using the clouds as its hiding place. The Apsen leaves continue to change as snow maintains its modest blanket on Longs Peak!

Goodbye Adrian & Mustafa!

As the end of our season approaches, we have to say goodbye to treasured Baldpate employees who have to return home to start school in the fall. This morning we said our goodbyes to Adrian from Romania and Mustafa from Turkey. I hope you had the chance to meet these two Baldpate servers on your lunch or dinner trips to The BPI this summer! And Mustafa left us a thoughtful parting gift: a key to his home in Turkey for our key collection! The World's Largest Key Collection just became one key larger!

Good Morning!

A cool mountain breeze is blowing the leaves of the Aspen trees as the sun continues to send down its golden rays through the vast blue cloudless sky upon everything around us this morning! On my walk to get the daily paper I spotted a Steller's Jay sitting amongst the trees and was able to take in the majestic view of Longs Peak splattered with snow.

Beef Stew and Pumpkin Curry (don't forget the dollop of fresh whipped cream) are the two soups being prepared by our wonderful chefs to fill up your soup bowls today! I suggest grabbing a slice of our homemade Honey Wheat Bread on your way through the buffet. I was lucky enough to witness the sun start to peak over Twin Sisters earlier-causing the mountain to be silhouetted through the clouds. The sun has charmed its way through the clouds this morning to make way for the vast blue sky as the squirrels chatter away amongst the trees and the rabbits hop across the driveway! We have a beautiful view of the sun soaked valley not to mention the Aspen trees that have already started to grace us with their fall colors!

Good Morning, Estes Park!

Well I think yesterday was proof that there is no bad day to enjoy the view of the valley from The Baldpate Inn. Even yesterday's mix of rain and fog didn't disappoint. Instead, it created a RAINBOW! One guest memorably remarked, "I've never been *above* a rainbow before!" Directly below is a picture I snapped of the rainbow just above the tree tops and I actually caught a bird in flight on the righthand side of the picture as well! (I thought that was so funny!)

It's a bit brisk out this morning, however, that hasn't stopped the birds from singing! As the fog that has settled upon us shows no signs of disappearing a cool mountain breeze continues to send the Apsen leaves (some of which have started to show their fall colors) into a dancing frenzy while the sun and blue skies try to find their way to us! The other day Adrian, Nemanja and I went into Rocky Mountain National Park!

Jared's Last Day

Good Morning!

If you have not taken the chance to go outside this morning to witness the beauty all around you then stop right now-go outside and take it all in for a few minutes. We are having a gorgeous day here at The Baldpate Inn! On my way out the door to get the daily paper the chattering of squirrels broke the morning silence as an ever present cool mountain breeze brushed on by me without a word. The sun gently touched my face as I looked down onto the sun soaked valley surrounded by mountains and covered by a canopy of blue skies stroked lightly with clouds.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival!

Good Morning, Estes Park!

I was lucky enough to visit the town of Littleton, Colorado last weekend during the Rocky Mountain Balloon Festival.  Everyone had their heads turned toward the sky to watch the colorful balloons float across the park.  It was quite the sight!  Baldpate guests kept their eye on the sky last night as well, as they watched a beautiful sunset from our perch on Twin Sisters Mountain.  The pink light of the sunset flooded into our sun porch, as dinner guests enjoyed their meals. I had to snap a few pictures!

Come and taste a part of Baldpate history today, as our chefs debut two new (and DELICIOUS) muffins!  Chef Jason's camping trip a few months ago inspired his creation of a S'mores muffin that he made for the staff here at The Baldpate.  It quickly became such a favorite among staff members that we decided we could no longer keep it for ourselves!  J's S'more muffins will be on our buffet along with Innkeeper Lois' new Peachy Pam's Almond muffins....named after yours truly!  A little bit of peach, a little bit of almond, and named after me! The sweet smell of homemade breads and muffins is filling up the lobby here at The Baldpate Inn, as our chefs prepare Golden Sunshine and Tropical Paradise muffins for you today. Our famous cornbread will also be on the buffet, along with soup pots full of Tomato Rice soup (Vegetarian) and White Chili. Come relax in a rocking chair as you enjoy the view from the outside porch, step inside and treat yourself to our one-of-a-kind buffet and save room for our delicious slices of homemade pie! Good Morning!

Have you stepped outside yet this morning? Well if not stop what you are doing-go outside and take it all in! A cloudless blue sky-the sun-a gentle mountain breeze along with the cool, crisp air-the hummingbirds-two Steller's Jays as well as some of the other wonders of nature are ready to greet you!

The two soups being served today which our fine chefs are busy in the kitchen preparing are: White Chili and Broccoli Cheese (vegetarian). If you are in the mood for our Honey Wheat Bread or even our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread you are in luck as they are both on the menu today! Share with a dining partner and have both. For those of you craving a savory muffin today our Green Onion Cream Cheese Muffins are sure to hit the spot! However, our Zucchini Nut Muffins are awaiting those with a sweet tooth. Remember to save room for pie! You can always take a slice or two home if you eat too much off the Soup & Salad Buffet.
