June 27th-Soups & Muffins
Good Morning!
Last night our dining guests left very satisfied not only because of the wonderful food they ate but also because of the bear they saw just north of our main lodge! Come join us for a meal today anytime between 11:30am and 8:00pm-you may get a chance to see a bear too!
It looks like it's going to be another glorious day here at The Baldpate Inn! The sun is shining brightly with the temperature already at 62*-just standing outside on the porch enjoying the incredible view and taking in a deep breath of the crisp-clean mountain air, is more than anyone could ask for!
Beef Stew and Tomato Rice (vegetarian) are the soups our chef is busy preparing back in the kitchen today! Our Honey Wheat Bread would go nicely with either. We have two savory muffins for your tastebuds today: Green Onion Cheese along with Buttermilk Bran. Our third muffin made for those with more of a sweet tooth is Zucchini Nut! Soups and Muffins!
Good Morning, Estes Park!
It looks like we are going to have another day of beautiful weather here at The Baldpate! Yesterday I was able to enjoy the weather as I went fly fishing for the first time with my guide, Chris, from Wild Basin. It was so much fun! Chris met me across the street at Lily Lake and provided me with a pole and those fun boots and plastic pants that let you wade into the water. I wish I could've taken a picture! If you're interested in going fly fishing (and after my experience, I definitely recommend it) give Chris a call at (303) 525- 7373.
Today would be a great day to stop into The Baldpate for lunch or dinner! Our chef has prepared our Pumpkin Curry soup and Red Chili for today's menu. Good Morning!
What a wonderful sight it is to watch the hummingbirds dance across the mountain backdrop! At least a dozen are already out enjoying the beautiful wheather. Today the sun is sending down its warmth here at The Baldpate Inn and the leaves are moving in harmony with the morning breeze. Both are awaiting your arrival!
A gentle breeze greeted me as I headed out the door on my walk for the daily paper. It looks like it's going to be another great day! Just a moment ago I had a lovely chat with a guest who put it best: "It's beautiful!" I couldn't agree more.
Today the chef is busy preparing two soups that are sure to please your tastebuds anytime between 11:30am and 8:00pm today: White Chili and Corn Chowder! If you just cannot get enough of our mouth-watering Baldpate Cornbread, you are in luck as it is on the menu today along with our Honey Wheat Bread. Both of these would accompany either soup nicely! Fresh out of the oven are our Lemon Ginger Muffins (featured in Bon Appetit) and Apple Raisin Spice Muffins (non-dairy). A slice of homemade pie-with or without ice cream-would make a perfect ending to a great meal!

Soups, Muffins and Estes Cone!
Good Morning, Estes Park!
Lately I've met a lot of Baldpate guests who have hiked to the top of Estes Cone. Hearing their stories made me want to hike there myself, so that's what I did! Our Baldpate Events Manager, Jody, and myself left The Baldpate at 4am (while the moon was still out!) to make it to the top of Estes Cone and back down again before we were scheduled to work that afternoon. It was a hard hike, but the view at the top made it all worth it! Here are a couple pictures from our hike:

Hello from The Baldpate Inn. Are you are ready for the most memorable summer solstice ever? We are celebrating in style today at The BPI with our "Summer in the Keys" Weekend. Today is Summer Solstice Saturday and we are celebrating with a menu featuring our party size Key Lime Pie and Coconut Cream pie 4 you 4 summer for $4. So pull out those old tie dye shirts and join us for some summer fun!
We are also featuring our Buffalo Beef Stew and Tomato Rice soup for today's menu. Don't forget about our delicious muffins baked fresh daily! Today you can experience our Lemon Ginger and Golden Sunshine- perfect for this particular Summer Solstice day!

Wow what a breath-taking morning we are having here at The Baldpate Inn: the sun is shining down brightly on us, waiting to share its warmth, the hummingbirds are out by at least the dozen if not more, birds are singing and one couldn't ask for a better view.
As I sit here at the desk I can see the leaves on the trees gently dancing with the breeze as the sun ever so lightly places a kiss on them. It's not too hot or too cold here and a couple guests were able to enjoy their morning coffee on the front porch while they enjoyed the beautiful view!

Happy Father's Day, dads! Today is the day to bring your fathers and grandfathers into the Baldpate! The sun is shining and there's not a cloud in the sky here at The Baldpate Inn. Bring in your father and show him how much you love him today. We will treat him to one free scoop of ice cream!

June 14th-Soups & Muffins
Good Morning!
I don't think we could have asked for a better morning! Some of our guests were up bright and early to greet the day with their beautiful smiles and wonderful attitudes! It was a treat for me to watch a couple guests do their knitting in the lobby-the finished projects are going to be beautiful!
This morning on my way to get the daily paper I was greeted by a gentle mountain breeze plus the added pleasure of nothing but blue skies! The sun is shining brightly over The Baldpate Inn ready to greet you on your way up to dine with us anytime between 11:30am and 8:00pm. Again the hummingbirds are out and about. Can you keep your eye on them as they quickly dance across the sky? Then again you have a good chance of catching one feeding from any of the five feeders we have.
"Is it soup yet?" (A saying brought to my attention this morning-for if something is ready yet.) Today the chef is busy preparing two great soups: Cream of Mushroom (vegetarian) and White Chili. Fresh out of the oven today to go wonderfully with either soup is our tasty Honey Wheat Bread and of course our mouth-watering Baldpate Cornbread. Also to get your tastebuds moving are our savory Zucchini Dill Muffins-but if you are more of a sweet person, don't worry-our Banana Butterscotch Muffins are on the menu today as well. Save room for a slice of homemade pie-with or without ice cream any of them would make a wonderful dessert!
This Sunday is Father's Day! Why not celebrate it right here at The Baldpate Inn? All fathers will receive a free scoop of ice cream with their pie-this is in honor of our Innkeeper Lois' father. He loved ice cream!
After dining with us a relaxing stroll around Lily Lake or a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park would top of the day nicely! In RMNP yesterday the elk were out enjoying the beautiful weather and the moon was hanging over the mountains-making way for wonderful pictures.

I was greeted by the fresh mountain air as well as the brightly shining sun, sending down its warmth to cut through the cool of the morning on my way to get the daily paper. It looks like it is going to be a wonderful Friday (oh my-it's Friday the 13th), with only a few clouds in the sky and the hummingbirds dancing around the feeders awaiting your arrival!
Come join us to eat between 11:30am and 8:00pm to unlock the mystery of your tastebuds with either our Red Chili or Broccoli Cheese Soup (vegetarian) both of which our chef is busy preparing! Either would warm you up, plus go great with a slice of our Honey Wheat Bread! Good Morning, Estes Park!
Check out Gabe, our Dining Room Manager on the left, posing for a picture on our hike to Emerald Lake a few days ago. So much snow!
I snapped this picture of the hummingbirds the other day as I was taking photos for our Baldpate Keynotes Newsletter. I wanted the best pictures possible, so instead of photographing the birds through the windows on our sun porch, I opened the windows. That was a big mistake! One of the hummingbirds flew into our sun porch and couldn't find his way back to the open window! Luckily, our Dining Room Manager, Gabe, came to the rescue. He ever so gently guided the hummingbird back to the window with a napkin and then scooped the hummingbird into the napkin and released it out of the open window! It was an amazing sight! I am just thankful that this happened *before* our restaurant opened for the day!

Greetings from The Baldpate Inn. This morning is a windy one up here at the BPI. Therefore, come up and get out of the wind storm and sit down on our sun porch and have some warm delicious soup. Today we are serving potato leek and white chili. To complement those soups we have our all-bran muffins and our green onion cream cheese muffins. Be sure to save room for pie, as well.

This morning is very special for the staff of The Baldpate Inn! We get to welcome back the Huebner family, who has been visiting the BPI for almost 20 years!

Happy June 5th everyone! With lack of summer spirit, Jack Frost has decided to disrupt all the fun and show his face. It is currently SNOWING here at The Baldpate Inn.Therefore, you should come up and relax to a warm cup of soup. Today we are serving beef stew and corn chowder to keep you warm! We also have zucchini nut, buttermilk bran (our General Manager MacKenzie's favorite!) and onion garlic muffins fresh out of the oven! Did anyone see the lightening dancing across the sky just above the mountains surrounding us last night? It was a beautiful sight to see!
The crisp, cool morning greeted me as I headed out the door on my way to pick up the paper and I had a lovely chat with a local resident who was out on a hike. The hummingbirds are already out and about enjoying the sun that is brightly shining on us this morning!
Our soups today, which the chefs are busy preparing are White Chili and Potato Leek (Vegetarian). A slice of our Honey Wheat Bread would go wonderfully with either soup. The muffins coming fresh out of the oven this morning are Classic Blueberry, Lemon Ginger (featured in Bon Appetit), and of course our mouth-watering Corn Bread.

Have you had the chance to go outside this morning? It is a BEAUTIFUL day! I'm so happy that our guests who are climbing the Twin Sisters Mountain will have great hiking weather today! The Twin Sisters trail head is so close to The Baldpate Inn that many of our guests and staff members are able to hike that trail during the day. I'm happy to say that tomorrow myself, Jamie (our Front Desk Associate from Missouri) and Payton (our Server from Alabama) will be attempting to conquer Twin Sisters for the first time....wish us luck!
