June 14th-Soups & Muffins

Good Morning!

I don't think we could have asked for a better morning! Some of our guests were up bright and early to greet the day with their beautiful smiles and wonderful attitudes! It was a treat for me to watch a couple guests do their knitting in the lobby-the finished projects are going to be beautiful!

This morning on my way to get the daily paper I was greeted by a gentle mountain breeze plus the added pleasure of nothing but blue skies! The sun is shining brightly over The Baldpate Inn ready to greet you on your way up to dine with us anytime between 11:30am and 8:00pm. Again the hummingbirds are out and about. Can you keep your eye on them as they quickly dance across the sky? Then again you have a good chance of catching one feeding from any of the five feeders we have.

"Is it soup yet?" (A saying brought to my attention this morning-for if something is ready yet.) Today the chef is busy preparing two great soups: Cream of Mushroom (vegetarian) and White Chili. Fresh out of the oven today to go wonderfully with either soup is our tasty Honey Wheat Bread and of course our mouth-watering Baldpate Cornbread. Also to get your tastebuds moving are our savory Zucchini Dill Muffins-but if you are more of a sweet person, don't worry-our Banana Butterscotch Muffins are on the menu today as well. Save room for a slice of homemade pie-with or without ice cream any of them would make a wonderful dessert!

This Sunday is Father's Day! Why not celebrate it right here at The Baldpate Inn? All fathers will receive a free scoop of ice cream with their pie-this is in honor of our Innkeeper Lois' father. He loved ice cream!

After dining with us a relaxing stroll around Lily Lake or a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park would top of the day nicely! In RMNP yesterday the elk were out enjoying the beautiful weather and the moon was hanging over the mountains-making way for wonderful pictures.
