Good Morning Baldpaters!
It is a fantastically festive Friday here at the Baldpate as we begin to prepare for the 4th of July. We have out several of our red white and blue decorations on our porch and in our dining room and we can't wait to watch the fireworks from the valley tomorrow night!
Today's soups include the always good, always popular Cowboy Buffalo Stew, as well as one of my new favorites, Cream of Mushroom. Our muffins for the day include the tangy Zucchini Dill and the sweet and yummy Poppy Seed. Mmm Mmm...With all this good food I'm not sure if I'll have room for a piece of our delicious pie....then again, I don't think I can pass up a piece of our famous Rhubarb.
Just to remind everyone, next Wednesday we will be having another of our Summer Enchanted Evening history talks at the Baldpate, but the topic is especially close to our hearts since it is about our very own keyroom! We will be having a guest speaker from the American History Savers Project come to speak about the keyroom and answer any questions one might have about the key museum. If you are like me, then you have a lot of questions regarding the start of the museum, the stories behind some of the keys, and how the keys are currently being catalogued. As always the series is free to the public and coffee, cookies, and punch will be served. Feel free to get a head start on your key trivia by having dinner with us beforehand and talking with one of you knowledgeable waiters. And while I can't tell you what soups we will be having next Wednesday, I did wrestle out of the cooks that we will be having Red Chili tomorrow.
I would also like to say Happy Birthday to one of our staff, Bri, who is turning a whopping twenty years old today!
As always, thanks for reading!
