Howdy Folks!


It’s a great fall day up here at the Baldpate Inn, perfect for a quick visit here. We are having Red Chili and Pumpkin Curry for our soups. That will be served with Strawberry Rhubarb and Feta Cheese muffins. Our world-famous Cornbread will be served all day. Tomorrow our hours will be changing so always make sure that you call ahead to find out if we will be open and make a reservation for yourself.

Howdy Folks!


There is a little chill in the air and it is really starting to feel like fall with old man winter being right around the corner. The soups today will be Cowboy Buffalo and Garden Vegetable. The muffins to go along with them are the Peanut Butter and Golden Sunshine Muffins. Our world-famous Cornbread will be served all day as well. A reminder, please give us a call to let us know when you are coming up because we tend to fill up and we want to give everyone the best possible service.

The museum event of Charles Mace starts tonight at 5:00 pm. It should be a very interesting exhibit and want to see all of you there.

Beyond The Baldpate

Howdy Folks!

This evening we are looking forward to the opening of the new Estes Park Museum's exhibit honoring one of the founders of The Baldpate Inn.  "Beyond the Baldpate: The Photographic Works of Charles Mace" will be opened to the public starting tonight at 5:00 PM and will be a featured exhibit until September 8, 2013.  Between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM there will be a black and white themed public reception to celebrate the exhibit opening.  Black and white desserts will be served and guests are asked to don black and white apparel. 

Join us for a fun fill day! Visit us for lunch or dinner, enjoy some pie and cider by our lobby fire, warm up with some Red Chili or Corn Chowder, and make your way down to the Estes Park Museum for the exhibit opening!

Howdy Folks!


It’s a colder, rainier foggy day but you know what sounds perfect for a day like that? Hot soup from the Baldpate Inn. Today the soups are Beef Stew and Broccoli and Cheese. That will warm you right up and put a smile on your face. The muffins are Banana Butterscotch and Blueberry muffins. Our Cornbread will be served all day. Howdy Folks!


What a beautiful day this is. The scenery is so beautiful there are artists visiting the Baldpate Inn to paint. Should be really fun to see what the artists come up with. Today the soups are Red Chili and Cream of Mushroom. Lois also experimented in the kitchen again and has made a totally new muffin the Apricot All Spice. Come over and try this new creation.

What a wonderful day. The air is crisp and the leaves are changing colors. It is perfect weather to sit on our porch and enjoy a hot beverage. Howdy Folks!


Today on this crisp second full day of fall with the fall leaves looking so colorful, we at the Baldpate Inn are having our own celebration. It is crazy apple day here. We are having an Apple Soup and our Beef Stew (which does not have apples in it). For our muffins we are having an Apple Raisin and a Poppy Seed. Make sure you ask your server about our hot beverages.

Just a reminder, it is very important to make a reservation. We want everyone to visit us and do not want to disappoint anyone so just call and make a reservation before traveling up to visit. Another reminder we are in our fall hours so today and every Sunday until we close we are only open until four this afternoon.

Howdy Folks!


I can tell you that today will be a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day today. The leaves are gold which is perfect because here at the Baldpate Inn its Autumn Gold. It is Corn Day which means we will be having Corn Chowder, along with our Cowboy Buffalo, some of our world-famous Cornbread and our Corn Medley salad. You can’t get any cornier then that. Tomorrow is apple day which will be another great day.

Howdy Folks!


It is looking like it is going to be a wonderful day up here on the mountain! Come on up and enjoy a bowl of our delicious Red Chili and Garden Vegetable soups. To compliment those we have our All Bran and Triple Cheese Muffins on our menu as well! Don't forget about our one-of-a-kind Cornbread which will be served as always!


Just a heads up, we will be closed to the public all day tomorrow due to a private dining event that we are hosting for the Estes Park Museum. But not to worry because we are featuring our Enchanted Autumn Gold this weekend! September 21st is Pumpkin Passion Friday, where there will be Pumpkin soup, muffins, and pie! The 22nd is Corn Crazy Saturday, with Cornbread, Corn chowder, salad, and muffins! Then finishing up on the 23rd with Awesome Apple Sunday, where we will be serving Apple spice muffins, Apple soup, and Caramel Apple Salad.


We always recommend that you call us for reservations in advance as we have converted to our fall hours and are not open as long as we were earlier in the season! In fact, you are welcome to call and make reservations today if you want to come on up and celebrate this wonderful season with us this weekend!

Howdy Folks!


It is looking like today and the rest of the week is going to be really nice weather wise. Come up and enjoy the weather and look at the views from our front porch and sun porch. Our soups today are White Chili and Corn Chowder. That will be served with Oatmeal Blues and Feta Cheese muffins. Of course our Cornbread will be served all day.

Autumn Gold is starting this weekend and we have some fun things to try and a themed menu to try on those day. ON Friday we will be having Pumpkin Passion, pumpkin soups, muffin and pies. Saturday, the official first day of autumn is Corn Crazy and Sunday is Awesome Apple. We will also be serving some hot drinks for both the adults and the kids. Ask your server on what drink specials we are having.

A quick reminder that we are into our fall hours now which are, Monday through Saturday we are open from 11:30 to 7 pm and on Sunday we are open from 11:30 to 4 pm. This Thursday we will be closed because we are having a private dining event with the Estes Park Museum. We are looking forward to this event and having them celebrate with us.

Howdy Folks!


Yesterday was a beautiful day all day and today is starting off to be the exact same. We are having some delicious Beef Stew and Cream of Mushroom soups. Served with that is our Zucchini Dill and our new Strawberry Rhubarb muffins. Of course our Cornbread will be served all day as well.

Next week is the start of fall and the Baldpate Inn is your best place to go to celebrate fall or celebrate the end of summer. We will be having a pumpkin, corn and apple day. Come on over and enjoy the start of a new season at the Baldpate Inn.

The Broncos play tomorrow night on Monday Night Football. The Broncos looked great with Payton back under center and a very fast defense. They are an exciting team to watch. It should be a great game on Monday.

Howdy Folks


Today is a wonderful day. After a tough lost in Week 1, the Packers rebounded and had a great win against the Bears. The Broncos looked good as well Week 1 picking up a win and Manning looked like his old self. But anyways, the soups today are Cowboy Buffalo and Potato Leek. That is served with Oatmeal Blues and Ben’s Onion Garlic Muffins. The Cornbread will also be served all day as well.

Also, don't forget about our newest promotion! "Movie Mondays" are now being featured every Monday until we close for the season. Spend your afternoon feasting at our all-you-can-eat buffet, have a slice of our homemade pie afterwards, then venture on over to our cozy library to watch the "Seven Keys to Baldpate" movie with some popcorn and beverages. This is Sara the Hotel and Museum Manager, here, at The Baldpate Inn bringing you great news. You may have looked out your windows this morning and saw the gloom but you can rest assured we are still serving our healthy homemade menu. Today’s line-up is perfect for you and the weather.

Battling for your taste buds attention today is our hearty Beef Stew and salty sweet Pumpkin Curry and our fabulously delicious Feta and Al-Bran Muffin duo. We also have three specialty salads but I am keeping those a surprise. Howdy Folks!


Looks like it will be another amazing day for weather, so get out and enjoy the day. When you are hungry come by the Baldpate Inn and we will feed you, with some delicious White Chili and Tomato Rice soups. We will also have Golden Sunshine and Peanut Butter muffins and of course our Cornbread we will be serving all day.

We also have made a decision on what our fall hours will be for the rest of the month. We will remain open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening. On Sunday we will be closing at 4:00 in the evening, we still will open at 11:30. We will still recommend calling for reservations. That gives you more time to come up and enjoy the Baldpate Inn. Bring family and friends as well.

Howdy Folks!


As Scottish Fest raps up, you will probably be looking for thing to do around Estes Park. The Baldpate Inn is still open and ready for your business. Today we will be serving Cowboy Buffalo and Pumpkin Curry. To go with those soups we are having Banana Butterscotch and Mandarin Orange muffins. There is of course our famous Cornbread.

This week will be our last Wednesday Enchanted Evenings lecture series. The topic of the speech will be about Charles Mace photography and his life. The lecture will be done by Derek Fortini. We will be looking forward to that.

Sunday also means NFL football. The Broncos looked good with Payton during the preseason but play a tough Steelers D today as their first game. My home team, the Packers, are playing the 49ers.  Aaron Rodgers looks better then ever. Both should be great games. Go Packers!

Howdy Folks!

Last night we had a great presentation from our museum curators and our inn taker as well. We had a great crowd turn-out. The speech was well done and the crowd was great. Howdy Folks!


It is a bright and sunny day here at the Baldpate! Today on the menu are our scrumptious Cowboy Buffalo Stew and Broccoli and Cheese soup. To go along with those, our Banana Butterscotch and Onion Garlic Muffins. We will also be having our top notch Cornbread as always!

Tonight is the night that many of you have been waiting for! Our Summer Enchanted Evening featuring our two Baldpate Curators, Sara Sacks and Lauren Wilson. They will be presenting on the history of the Baldpate Inn and its architecture. This will be an evening that you won't want to miss! Come early for dinner before and make a night out of it! The presentation will start at 7:00pm.

I hope everybody had a fun and relaxing Labor Day weekend! Today we will be serving our White Chili and Corn Chowder soups and we urge you to come on up and try a bowl of each! To go along with those we will be serving our All Bran and Zucchini Dill Muffins! Our amazing Cornbread will be served as always!

Don't miss our Summer Enchanted Evening tomorrow night. Our two Baldpate Curators, Sara and Lauren, will be presenting on the history of the Baldpate Inn, the architecture features of the Inn, as well as an "arm-chair tour." You will not want to miss one of our most anticipated Summer Enchanted Evenings! The presentation will start at 7:00pm, as always. So leave your walking shoes at home and come see the enchantment grow through all of the years the Inn has been standing! We recommend calling for reservations for dinner before the presentation begins!

Howdy Folks!


This weather has been amazing the last few days. Hopefully you all will be able to get out enjoy the day. I also hope that you all will be able to visit us here at the Baldpate Inn. When you do come to visit, you will have two great soup choices, Red Chili and Pumpkin Curry. That will be followed by some delicious homemade muffins, Zucchini Nut and Trail Mix. Of course we will be having serving our world-famous Cornbread.

We will be closing at seven at night for the time being. We are still deciding our fall hours and not sure what day we will transition into them to give you all the best possible service. We for sure will be open for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Please stay tuned for more information concerning the hours.
