Join us today for lunch and experience and see what I love about the Baldpate Inn.

It's been such a fun summer I know this one is one for the books! This has been such a learning experience that has taught me so much. See what all the talk is about and join us for lunch today at the Baldpate. We would love to serve you.

Summer Enchanted Evenings

Good Morning All!

It is sad to say that tonight will be our final Summer Enchanted Evening of the season. Tonight at 7 PM we will have guest speaker Sharon Danhauer talk to us about Mariano Medina: Legend in His Own Time. Mariano was the first premanent settler in the Big Thomson Valley. He was quite a character, an old mountain man. as respected in his day as the famous frontiersmen we know of today. But his legacy had been largely forgotten, even in Loveland. This presentation tell of Mariano's colorful life before and after settling on the Big Thompson, and of the efforts being made to preserve the last vestige of his settlement before it is lost forever.

As always, if you would like to make a dining reservation before the presentation please call us at 970-586-6151.

Today's Soups: Beef Stew and Pumpkin Curry

Today's Muffins: Apple Raisin Spice and Zucchini Dill

Unlock your Autumn with us at The Baldpate Inn! Explore the changing seasons at The Baldpate Inn's Enchanted Autumn Gold. Enjoy the beautiful aspens, cozy up to the fireplace, and sip Peppermint Hot Chocolate or Hot Buttered Rum! Savor our seasonal menu specials and enter to win a Key Gift Certificate! Good morning everyone.  I hope you are doing well and are excited for the day.  I know I'm excited for today.  Mostly because of the fact that Lois is making my absolute favorite soup for the first time this season: French Onion Soup.  It's going to be so good I can hardly wait.  Along with the French Onion, we are also having Red Chili and our Oatmeal Blueberry and Little Italy Muffins.  Is it sad when food gets you this excited?  I don't think so either.

And get ready.  Tomorrow night is the last Summer Enchanted Evening of the season.  For this event, Sharon Danhauer will be presenting a slide show about Mariano Medina, the first settler of the Big Thompson Valley.  And for this extremely interesting show, you will be able to view it on our brand new, bigger and better projection screen!  This is one event that's safe for the whole family and you won't want to miss it.

Have a great day and I hope to see you soon.

Wednesday!

Morning All!

It's Wednesday again and that means another Summer Enchanted Evening is about to begin! Tonight at 7 PM in the Baldpate Library we have special guest Kurtis Kelley. Kelley is a librarian and local performer that has been leading living-history re-enactments for over a dozen years. His performances usually illustrate a single character. This event is a rare opportunity to see a "medley" of Kelley's favorite characters, all of whom had a tremendous impact on our history: Abner Sprague, Lord Dunraven, and F. O. Stanley. Kelley will also discuss the local history books that guide our understanding of these"history legends". Also included: a brief reading from Joe Mills' "A Mountain Boyhood".

Today's soups are White Chili and Pumpkin Curry.

Please join us tonight to welcome our special guest and enjoy his performance! As always if you would be interested in dining with us before the speech please call for a dining reservation at 970-586-6151.

Good Morning!

It looks to be another gorgeous day here in Estes Park. The sun is already shining down and the hummers are buzzin around. Last night for the first time I saw a baby bear! He was so precious as he waddled through the Baldpate forest. His mama wasn't far away though so that made it easy for me to stay inside! The cub reminded me exactly of those Charmin toilet paper commercials; so cute! We also had a huge elk lounging on our property the other day! Being nestled in the Rocky Mountains, The Baldpate Inn hosts some cool furry friends! So come out and hopefully see one of our furry neighbors!

Today we have Potato Leek and Cowboy Buffalo Stew and Golden Sunshine muffins as well as Triple Cheese muffins. As always we have a full salad bar with fresh toppings that won't disappoint. Our breads are baked fresh daily including our world famous Cornbread and our delicious sweet Honey Wheat bread as well. Reservations are always recommended so feel free to call us at 970-586-6151!
Speaking of our animal neighbors, our hummers have been seen less and less. I guess it's that time for them to travel south. However, last night's Summer Enchanted Evening program with Scott Rashid was a hit! He spoke about our little flying Baldpate mascot and even held a few in his bare hands! Everyone sure got a "buzz" at the Baldpate! Don't miss out on next week's Summer Enchanted Evening on Estes Park history legends!

If you didn't get a chance in your busy summer schedule to come up to the Baldpate, don't worry! We are still open throughout the fall. Our bed and breakfast is a great get-a-way option for those who love to have a relaxing time in a serene setting. Call and ask about availability and experience some great hospitality at the Baldpate.

It's a brand new day to create new and fun memories. We would love to be apart of those special memories. You are a key to our place so make yourself at home!

What a gorgeous morning! Then again when is it not a gorgeous morning in Estes Park? It's starting to cool down a little and fall is quickly approaching and the scenery is only going to get better. So don't let your summer end or start your fall season off right by enjoying a great time at the Baldpate Inn.

Today we are serving White Chili and, a staff favorite, Tomato Rice. Muffins today include my favorite Zucchini Nut muffins and Blueberry muffins. Our specialty restaurant includes homemade breads such as our famous Cornbread and Honey Wheat bread. Is your mouth watering yet? Well, if that doesn't make your taste buds excited then let me mention our homemade pies. Freshly made daily, our pies are to die for. We have over 7 different kinds of pies that puts your grandma's pie to shame. (Unless Lois is your grandma...) So come out for a homemade, healthy, and fresh meal.

Just a side note, please keep one of our staff members in your prayers. He was sent to the ICU yesterday and we are praying for a quick recovery. Our staff is like family so it's tough to see our Baldpate brother sick!

On another side note, it's weird not starting class today! I still had to get up early however... My Switzerland program doesn't start until October so I get to spend an extra month at the Baldpate! I know, I'm going from one mountain range to another. I guess I'm becoming a mountain woman after all. Anyway, I just wanted to tell everyone starting classes today, this week, or soon, good luck and study hard!

If you would like to make a reservation call us at 970-586-6151. We would love to serve you! Have a great Monday!

Good Morning!

It's another gorgeous morning at the Baldpate. It is always such a serene and peaceful setting here you can hear the hummers buzzing and the leaves brushing against each other so clearly. What a great start to the day.

It's suppose to be a sunny day here in Estes Park so nothing should stop you from coming up to the Baldpate Inn for some great lunch or dinner. Today we will be having my favorite Red Chili and Corn Chowder. Muffins today are Mandarin Orange muffins as well as our Chocolate Mystery muffins. I bet you can't guess what's the mystery ingredient in the Chocolate muffins! If you haven't tried our Cornbread then you are missing out on life. Our famous Cornbread is the talk of the town and people specifically call and ask if we will be having cornbread. As always the Cornbread is on our buffet so don't worry folks! Our Honey Wheat bread are best friends and sit next to each other so don't forget to get a slice of that!

With all these homemade soups and breads it's hard not to just eat one muffin or one bowl of soup. Thank God we are a buffet. Remember it's not a race, it's a marathon. So bring your stretchy pants and enjoy a great hearty and filling meal at the Baldpate.

Reservations are always recommended so call us at 970-586-5397 and I would love to make one for you!

Good Morning,

Well it's another beautiful day in the Rocky Mountains and I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday then here at the Baldpate Inn! Today we are preparing for a wedding and everything is just a buzz with activity. As I sit here listening to the classical music playing in the background, I feel very at ease and I am ready for a exciting day.  Please come and join us for lunch and spend a relaxing afternoon with us here at the Baldpate Inn.  Who knows you might even go home feeling a little more at ease, without a care in the world.

Good Morning!

It's the day nobody really likes, Monday. However I actually don't mind Mondays because it reminds me that it is the start of a fresh week! Monday is the day you can start over and determine the mood for the rest of the week! So see it as an opportunity to create a great week! And what better way to start your week here at the Baldpate on this fine Monday.

Today's soups are Garden Vegetable and White Chili to put you in a good mood! Our two muffins today are Triple Cheese and Oatmeal Blueberry to put you in a even better mood! As always Cornbread and Honey Wheat Bread are on the menu everyday. Reservations are always recommended so feel free to call us anytime and make a reservation for some great food and great service!

Today three of our interns head back as their term ends here at the Baldpate. It's been so much fun working, learning, growing, and living with Sarah, Haydon, and David. They all contributed their own talents to make the Baldpate special. Hospitality isn't easy but to these three, it comes naturally. It seems just yesterday I was shaking their hands and introducing myself. Now, we are a family. It will be hard to see them leave but as Mama Lo Lo says, "It's never goodbye, it's see ya." After all, five of us returned from last year! We'll be praying for safe travels as they go back home/school and hope they will never forget the memories and experiences here at the Baldpate.

Start your week off right here at the Baldpate. You have a fresh start this week so be happy, smile, and enjoy a great time at the Baldpate.

It's official: play season at The Baldpate has ended.  They were great fun and we are sad that we are not going to see them anymore, as well as see all the wonderful play people who were so nice.  We would like the thank them for all of their hard work putting the productions on.  It was no easy task, but they made it seem effortless.  We would also like to thank everyone who attended the plays.  It's because of your support that we are able to do these.

Good morning everyone.  I can't believe that as I sit down to write this blog, the calendar is telling me that it is already August.  It feels like it was just last week that I was arriving and we were preparing to open.  But I've had a wonderful summer here so far and it's only going to get better.  And something else that is only getting better is the food, and today we have a delicious line-up for you.  We are having Red Chili and Broccoli and Cheese for our soups and All Bran and Lemon Blueberry Muffins.  And as a special treat, if you get here early enough, you can give us your input on our newest muffins we are trying today, Cherry Almond.  So come in and give us the thumbs up or the thumbs down and we will know whether we should make these again or not.

Tonight is our first Summer Enchanted Evening of the month it's going to be a fun one.  George Peck, who has been a resident of Estes Park for more than 80 years, is going to be here tonight and share his stories and pictures.  So join us tonight at 7:00 pm in The Baldpate Library for the fun trip down memory lane.

Have a great day and I hope to see you soon.

Good Morning!
The fire is burning, the birds are chirping, and the coffee is brewing What a perfect morning! It is always so calm and serene in the mornings it puts me in such a peaceful and relaxed mood. However, like my daddy always says, "There is a calm before a storm." Not saying there will be a storm, but we do get extremely busy during lunch and dinner hours so it is nice to relax and prepare for a busy day. Since it is our busy peak, it is always recommended to call and make a reservation.

It always best to make a reservation when Beef Stew and Cream of Mushroom are on the menu. And to go along with those yummy soups, Blueberry Muffins and Green Onion Cream Cheese Muffins are on the menu as well. Cornbread and Honey Wheat Bread are served daily so make sure you try our delicious homemade breads. A soup and salad buffet is a perfect option for those who are health conscious or just those who enjoy a healthy and fresh meal. So call and make a reservation at 970-586-5397 because I would love to make you one!

Some exciting events going on here at the Baldpate Inn include Summer Enchanted Evenings with George Peck. Mr. Peck moved with his parents to Estes Park in the early 1930's and he has some stories and pictures to show and tell! Travel back in time 80 years ago with us as George Peck takes us back to what Estes Park was like when dances at the Riverside were 10 cents and self-service gasoline was unheard of! This will be an enchanted evening for sure! Program starts at 7:00 P.M. in the Baldpate library tomorrow.

This weekend there will be three more performances of Arsenic and Old Lace! (I told you there were exciting events going on). Join us on August 5th at 6:30 and on August 6th at 1:30 and 6:30 on our outdoor theatre. These our are last performances of the season so you don't want to miss out! Dine with us on the same day of the performance and your ticket will be at a discounted price of $12 instead of the standard price of $15.

The last exciting event that I want to mention in this blog is our upcoming school pride weekend. Our College Daze event starts this Friday! Our interns here at the Baldpate, especially me, have tons of school pride and we wanted to get everyone involved in showing it! From August 5th-7th celebrate our diverse staff by wearing your College gear and share your stories with us! Answer a few questions about our staff and our respective universities and we will enter you in a drawing for a Key Gift Certificate!

Fun times ahead here at the Baldpate and it will only be enjoyable if you were part of it with us. Make some great memories at the Baldpate, we would love to serve you.
