Good Morning All,

Well, it seems to be a week of beautiful mornings out here at the Baldpate and today is no exception. The sun is shining over Twin Sisters Mountain and the air smells as fresh and sweet as a fresh batch of homemade baked goods....or perhaps that is just the aroma wafting over from our kitchen where our chefs are cooking up Banana Butterscotch and Green Onion Cream Cheese Muffins today. MmmMmm! As nice as it is outside; however, don't discount a warm bowl of delicious soup. Nothing gets me more prepared for a good hike or a fun day in town like a bowl of our Garden Vegetable or Red Chili, which the cooks are preparing today.

The hummingbirds also seem to be in fine order this morning, but that could be due to the fact that they got so much attention last night for our Summer Enchanted Evenings Series that was all about...well, hummingbirds! Mr. Scott Rashid, hummingbird expert, entertained a group of twenty or more with his educational talk about our quick winged friends and was even able to catch a few of them on the porch in order to give everyone a closer look. I've always said that our hummingbirds were a bit spoiled, but with such a large audience last night, I am sure they are going to be showing off like crazy for the next couple of days.
If you missed the hummingbird talk, don't worry! We will be having an equally interesting discussion next week about our very own Key Museum! As always, these talks are free and open to the public every Wednesday at 7 and include complimentary cookies, coffee, and punch.

I was told to keep tomorrow's soups under wraps, but we're all friends here right? Just be sure not to tell to many people, but it looks like we are going to be having Cowboy Buffalo Stew and Cream of Mushroom.

And if you plan on stopping by today or sometime this weekend give us a ring at 970-586-6151 or visit our website at www.baldpateinn.com and click on the opentable button under our dining page to make reservations. The Baldpate Inn is simply bristling with activity lately and we look forward to sharing its special charm with you and yours!

Thanks for reading Baldpaters!
