August 10th: Soups, Muffins & Goodbyes

Good Morning!

Today the cool, brisk air greeted me on my way out the door, a couple squirrels were chatting about and the leaves of the Aspen trees were gently dancing along with the breeze as I went to pick up the daily paper from the top of the driveway. The sun is trying its hardest to pierce through the clouds floating across the sky, however, they are not keeping the hummingbirds away! As I sit here, I can hear them chirping as well as see them enjoying a delicious treat from our feeders. A couple of us saw a bear this morning-come on by-maybe you will get a chance as well!

Don't let the clouds get you down...come up to The Baldpate Inn to enjoy a steaming bowl of Cowboy Buffalo Stew or Tomato Rice-both of which our lovely chefs are busy preparing today! Enjoy a slice of Honey Wheat Bread with either soup. Not in the mood for it-no problem-we are also serving up our mouth-watering Baldpate Corn Bread today on our buffet! Also on the menu today are our Zucchini Nut Muffins as well as our Lemon Ginger Muffins (featured in Bon Appetit). Our fine staff has made up three speciality salads to really get your tastebuds going: Waldorf Apple, Gazpacho & Lemon Mandarin Orange. Don't forget to save room for a slice of homemade pie! Too full? Take it to go!

It is the last day for a few of our staff memebers as they are heading back for school, so come on by anytime between 11:30am and 8:00pm to enjoy a great meal as well as to help send-off our staff members with wishes of good luck wherever life may take them! They will all be missed. Make a reservation by calling 970-586-6151 or toll free 866-577-5397.

If you enjoy our menu items you are in for a treat as our Legacy Edition Cookbook, featuring some of the recipes will soon be available in our gift shop! You can always find out more about The Baldpate Inn at http://www.baldpateinn.com/ -sign up for our newsletter on the homepage! Have a key to add to our collection? We'd love to have it!

Have a wonderful day!
